Yes! I heard about this glorious holiday on my way to work. With no D&D or KK in site, I headed to the local starbucks (these are always in site). When I ordered my coffee, I asked, do I get a free donut (I do love the apple fritters there)? Not surprisingly, the cashier said, "what?", to which I replied, "it's national donut day! Are you guys participating." Could have been a rhetorical question. The response was a resounding "No". I do wonder how many donuts starbucks would have to give away on a per square mile basis if they did. Then again, had they participating, and with them so close together, I guess I could have gone to 12 of them quite easily and been the office hero that morning. Alas, i just wound up with coffee that day.
